A couple of quick wickets for New Zealand, but it could have been much better. They've dropped Sangakarra and Jayawardane. Sloppy.

New Zealand have set an imposing target of 315. That's a pretty good effort from New Zealand. Sri Lanka need to win this match, otherwise they may be dumped out of the competition.

New Zealand are getting the runs on the board, but they're losing wickets. I'm not sure if they'll make their full 50 overs.

The most intriguing thing about the ICC Champtions Trophy is to see how many teams actually take it seriously. Realistically, it's the younger and poorer brother of the Cricket World Cup and with the West Indies sending a team of rookies, it's looking less and less a Champions Trophy
Forever the dark horse of world cricket, the New Zealanders are always fancied for an outside bet, but have never quite been able to complete the promise of a side which is generally better than the sum of its parts.
The youngest recognised team in world cricket, they revolutionised one-day cricket with their opening over onslaughts at the 1996 World Cup. A very steady team, who like New Zealand, often prove to be more than the sum of their parts and have provided us with some of the more unusual bowlers on the world stage, such as Muralitharan or Ajantha Mendis.
