@nshah - I don't know about all this attention span business, but I know I'd rather be in this stand:

than in this one

@teej101 Twenty20, the game for the current generation and those of short attention spans. More entertainment than sport. Maybe that's what they need over there. As for me, I'm a purist who hopes to take a seat amongst those duffers at Lords.
teej101 (24 Sep 2009):
@nshah I suspect it might be something worse - maybe cricket's dying in the West Indies. I suspect only 20-20 can save it now. These days it's tough to watch a 5 day game, unless you're one of the duffers at Lords, independently wealthy and all that
nshah (24 Sep 2009):
@teej101, what can I say. Too much disharmony. In CLive Lloyd (and then Richie), they had a great leader, but they've been missing one in recent years. They could do with another one about now and do with sorting out all those contractual wrangles.

Windies 133 all out - that is shocking! Sir Viv would be rolling over in his bed
teej101 (23 Sep 2009):
@nshah, what do you think has accounted for the Windies poor performance in recent years? Apparently they used be good once
nshah (23 Sep 2009):
Oh dear. I guess it wasn't really any worse than expected. West Indies 100 for 8 after 27 overs.

The most intriguing thing about the ICC Champtions Trophy is to see how many teams actually take it seriously. Realistically, it's the younger and poorer brother of the Cricket World Cup and with the West Indies sending a team of rookies, it's looking less and less a Champions Trophy
Ranking up there with Zimbabwe and West Indies as one of the most amusing teams in World Cricket, Pakistan do not shy away from controversy. Moody players, conveyor belt of coaches and brilliant natural talent combine to make Pakistan one of the most unpredictable teams in International cricket. Brilliant one day, a disaster the next.
A side with some of the richest history in World cricket. They have produced great players in Brian Lara and Michael Holding and ruled the sport with their fearsome line of fast bowlers. However, the history is unable to hide the continuing decline of one of the great teams in World Cricket.
