This is the down side of 50 over cricket! SA 134-4 after 24, Lankans have likely won this, but we must go through the whole charade - 20 over cricket FTW!!

Sri Lanka finish at 319 for 8 - will take some serious beating that score. If I was to put a bet on at thie moment - it would be for Sri Lanka

Did I say WC '99 - I meant '96 of course, the very same world cup in which Kambli had a fight with Manjrekar.

SL 268-3 after 44 overs, they're looking really good. I still remember when they destroyed everyone at WC 99, with the most aggressive approach. Oh and remember the big daddy Ranatunga. what's he up to these days?

South Africa are again proving a bit fragile on the big stage. I did fancy them. Great bowling and fielding, but it's going to be tough for them to get back into this match.

70 from 55 balls for Dilshan and Sangakarra just being steady at the other end. It's a great start

A hundred within 15 overs from Sri Lanka. Dilshan's been a revelation at the top of the order.

The most intriguing thing about the ICC Champtions Trophy is to see how many teams actually take it seriously. Realistically, it's the younger and poorer brother of the Cricket World Cup and with the West Indies sending a team of rookies, it's looking less and less a Champions Trophy
South Africa, the great underachiever of cricket. They have been labelled chokers and despite Graeme Smith's efforts to instil some backbone to the team, they continue to miss out on the big occasion. They are, nevertheless, one of the best teams in cricket today.
The youngest recognised team in world cricket, they revolutionised one-day cricket with their opening over onslaughts at the 1996 World Cup. A very steady team, who like New Zealand, often prove to be more than the sum of their parts and have provided us with some of the more unusual bowlers on the world stage, such as Muralitharan or Ajantha Mendis.
